To Parents: Gaining Access to Homework
Some students in portable 10 have expressed some difficulty in gaining access to the homework that is being posted on our blog. One possible reason why this difficulty exists is because you may need to download and use the new Google Chrome web browser. It is a very quick and easy download and should take no time at all. Because the homework is a Google document, other web browsers like Internet Explorer may have problems downloading the file properly.
If you are having difficulty gaining access to the homework, please click here to download Google Chrome and use this web browser to gain easier access to our classroom blog.
All the best,
Mr. Chong

A Note To Parents: Homework Routines
Homework is a part of a healthy routine at home and will be encouraged to be apart of your child's day-to-day. Not only will it allow you to stay connected with what your child is learning in school, but will also give the student an opportunity to apply new concepts independently at home.
Homework will try to be provided everyday except weekends (that means, Monday - Thursday). Unless specified otherwise, homework is expected to be completed and brought back to school the next day to be graded as either "completed" or "incomplete."
Doing homework will also give students further opportunities to ask questions and to think deeper about certain areas of study. I hope we can work together to keep your child's mind active and curious.
All the best,
Mr. Chong

Welcome! A Letter to Students and Parents
Dear Parent/ Guardian and students,
"Welcome to Portable 10" is a new blog initiative that will keep students and parent's connected to what is happening in the classroom. Students are expected to visit this blog on a daily basis to check for daily homework assignments and also review new concepts and ideas that have been discussed in class.
The blog is also an excellent tool to use to check for new updates on what portable 10 has been working on throughout the week. Students are also encouraged to post their own thoughts, ideas, and concerns on certain topics and issues brought up in class or on this blog.
Blogging has become a new trend in education that allows students and parents better access to their education. It is becoming more and more common in classrooms and is a valuable skill to learn at an early age. I encourage your participation! Enjoy!
